Baptism
Baptism is a sacred act within the church, serving as a public declaration that an individual has committed their life to Jesus. It is not intended for the perfect, but for anyone who acknowledges that Jesus gave His life to save theirs and is ready to follow Him. “Have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.” – Romans 6:3–4 (NLT)
Getting Started with Healthy Habits
Like all aspects of life, a healthy spirituality begins by cultivating healthy habits. We believe that the foundation of a relationship with Jesus is time spent praying, reading the Bible, and worshipping God in a community of believers. And while that sounds simple, many people don't know how to pray, or where to start with reading the Bible and so we have some tips that we want to share with you to help start well in your spiritual journey.

Church
We believe you were designed for fellowship and that to reach your full potential in Christ, finding a healthy church home is vital.
Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. - Hebrews 10:23–25 NLT
Our worship services at BPAC are Sundays at 10:30 am at 1410 Delta Ave in Burnaby, BC, and you are invited to join our family. If you are searching for a local fellowship elsewhere, explore the options in your neighborhood to find a community where you can grow and feel free to email Pastor Kirk for a recommendation. We understand that life happens beyond Sunday mornings, which is why we offer small groups that meet weekly. Visit our events page to discover new ways to connect and belong.

Diving into the Bible may seem daunting, yet its truth serves as the foundation of our faith. For clear understanding, BPAC recommends the New Living Translation or the New International Version, both accessible online. If you visit us in person, we would love to give you a physical copy of the Bible as a gift.
The Bible is a library of ancient manuscripts written over 1400 years by various authors in three languages across two continents. It is divided into two major parts: Testaments. The Old Testament chronicles God ’s covenant relationship with Israel, beginning at creation. The New Testament fulfills that narrative through the life of Jesus, the promised Messiah. It also details the birth of the early church and provides essential guidance on Christian doctrine and daily living.
We suggest starting your journey with the life of Christ in the Gospel of Matthew, the first book of the New Testament. From there, jump to John, then the book of Acts, then continue through the epistles—letters written to early believers to provide encouragement and practical instruction. The final book, Revelation, often seems complex due to its vivid symbolism, yet it was written to sustain those enduring hardship. The secret to grasping its meaning is keeping your eyes on Jesus throughout the text.
To aid your study, we have highlighted two great tools below: The Bible Project offers excellent video overviews to broaden your perspective, and the YouVersion app provides a convenient way to engage with God’s Word on your mobile device for constant inspiration.
Reading the Bible

When first starting out, many people feel a little silly praying. But it becomes more comfortable the more you do it. To help your prayers have a little structure, try using the acronym ACTS as a framework:
Adoration
(declaring your love for Jesus) - 1 Chronicles 29:10-13; Psalm 66:3-4
Confession
(telling him what you've done wrong and then knowing you are forgiven) - Psalm 139:23-24; 1 John 1:4-9
Thanksgiving
(expressing gratitude in your life) - Psalm 100:4-5; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Supplication
(asking for God to provide what you need) - Philippians 4:6; 1 Timothy 2:1-4
